Laymoon Café is a Palestinian-Syrian inspired coffee shop and pastry concept in downtown Tempe, Arizona honoring the owners’ heritage and the tradition of gathering over coffee. Inspired by the street café culture of the Middle East, the 3,500-square-foot space was designed as a warm place for community, conversation, and everyday hospitality.

Arabesque arches carve out intimate booth seating, paired with textured stone and layered materials that give the café warmth and character. Overhead, a striking installation of suspended rugs brings a strong cultural reference. The space also features a private lounge inspired by the Arabic concept of a diwaniya- a place for hosting, conversation, and connection.

House of Form developed both the interior design and brand identity, creating a cohesive experience where architecture, graphics, and retail moments all work together to tell the story of Laymoon.

Branding

Designed by House of Form for Laymoon Cafe

Laymoon’s branding was designed to reflect the cultural authenticity of its food, space, and Palestinian heritage. Inspired by the building’s pointed arches, we created a custom Arabic Diwani logotype and paired it with a hand-lettered Latin script to blend Middle Eastern and Americana café nostalgia. Lemon and keffiyeh-inspired motifs add vibrancy and symbolism, while the emblem evokes the warmth of gathering beneath the moon over the date palm with coffee, family, food, and tradition.
